Q's class inherited three hermit crabs a few months ago...Jerry, Nick & Peter. These hermit crabs have become part of our morning ritual. We enter the building, walk straight into Q's class, and place his backpack in his cubby. We then proceed to R's class, say our "good mornings" to everyone, give sis a smooch good-bye, and head back down to see the crabs. Until this week....the inevitable took place.....yep, crab heaven.
I suggested to Gigi today that I would purchase a few more crabs for the classroom, knowing how much the kids loved them! $50 dollars later...
--3 hermit crabs (very active)
--two water bowls (one for salt-water & one for non-chlorine water)
--one food bowl
--hermit crab food
--spray bottle (for misting)
--small bag of sand
--two small containers of mulch
--aquarium lid
Little did I know that a couple of hermit crabs would be so high maintenence. I'm pretty certain the teachers didn't realize it either.
J joked that he sure hoped they named one of the new crabs after me!

Hermit crabs are so high maintenence because they are all female. Scientific fact. I promise.
