Wonderwild

This morning we met up with some of my work friends at Wonderwild, an open play area with a three story high playscape and a super tall alligator slide. The kids got to run wild and burn up loads of energy.

Even in the soaring temperatures, if the grand-kids want to build a fire and roast marshmallows, Paw Paw is there to serve.  What a happy group with their gooey summer treat!

Each time the Kentucky cousins make the trip to Texas, Q & R know that it's time to travel to Brenham for some go-carting, bumper boating & laser tagging good times.

JJ's Snowcones

With the cousins in town, JJ's was a mandatory stop on this hot summer day.  JJ's has been around for 30+ years with now over 50 different flavors to choose from.  It was a nice treat & an equally nice visit down memory lane!

The Best Ice-Cream in the Country

With two of the Kentucky cousins in town, we've been having a blast at Grandma & Paw Paw's house. We traveled to Brenham this morning to enjoy a tour of the Blue Bell creamery & to sample some of its yumminess.

Before the sky opened up this afternoon, the kids & I were able to enjoy our morning at Old McDonald's Farm. It's always a fun time feeding & petting the animals, particularly when there is cloud coverage outside.

Smart-Girl

For those of you that don't know, I have carried around the same "dumb" phone for years and years. I suppose I have my Grandmother's "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy.  But, being the multi-tasking Mama that I am, the "dumb" phone went for a dive in the pool this week. Literally.  And so glad it did....  Look at the cool pictures I can now take on my new smart phone.

While the Q-man has been at VBS this week, the girls & I have been enjoying our low key mornings. After R's reading class today, we went on a hunt for roly polys and all things bug-like.

Summer Days

I really love the summer schedule. Being allowed to lounge around in casual clothing, eating meals at any time of day, having popsicles after breakfast, and not having anywhere or anything necessarily to do is much to my liking.
