Pumpkin Carving Contest

The kids had a great time at our pumpkin carving party yesterday. Honestly, the adults did too! Here are a few pics to show off the creativity in our family. We can't wait to light them this evening.

Character Parade

I took off part of the day today to see my sweet boy in his "Character Parade" at school. I also hung around for a while to help out with his Fall Party. Decorating pumpkins & creating "handprint" bats were the perfect craft for today's cool weather.

Blink of an Eye

Where did the weekend go??!

Our poor pond is terribly low from the lack of rain.
I sure hope it & all of the trees can recover from the drought.

what a great day for a snooze...

and for getting out the Halloween decorations...

Alike or Different?

Everyone always asks who our little Sweet P looks like. Mama? Daddy? Ri? Q? It's so hard to tell at this age. Occasionally, I get a glimpse of one of the kids. My Mom says she looks just like me when I was a baby, though I think she may be a bit biased. I had a friend at work scan these pics of me to do a little comparison.

Girl's Day Out

After soccer & reading class this morning, the girls & I enjoyed the beautiful afternoon at the "duck park". As we were getting in the car, Ri said to me, "it's a great day for an adventure!" And that it was!

A Girl's Gotta Eat

With Q & R, we started rice cereal at four months of age & then fruits/veggies at five months. With P, our pediatrician says that if babies are exposed to a variety of foods at an earlier age, they are less likely to be picky eaters or develop food aversions. So, rice cereal at four months for Sweet P & fruits/veggies at a few days shy of five months. ha!

First on the agenda -- green beans!

Cereal

Four months old in the Schmidt house = cereal time. The first time P tasted her cereal, she spit most of it out. After a few more tries, she grunted & opened her mouth for more. Don't you just love that sweet cereal face?!?
