After posing for our bluebonnet pics this weekend, we had to check out the neighboring park. Q prefers "monkey bar" style when going down the slide, while R and I are content with our bottom first. Notice the bow didn't last long in R's hair. I should have started those bows when she was younger.....

Purplebonnets
We decided to take our annual bluebonnet pictures this morning. Rain was in the forecast and I wanted to get out there before it started. (The rain never came, btw...) My friend Tanya told me about this place...she said we couldn't miss it. Honestly, I never dreamed there would be so many bonnets. And the kiddos were great...Q loved lying in the flowers and posing for the pics. R had a great time - yummy flowers. Does anyone know why they're called BLUEbonnets? They really seem to have a purple hue. I suppose Purplebonnets just doesn't have the same ring.

No Way Jose
I'm certain you've heard the expression, or even used it a few times. We must say it a million times, b/c our little parrot mimics it with his own little twist... Q says "No way, OJ."
Other recent sayings include...
"Holy Moly."
"Holy Guacamole."

In the Bush
We absolutely adore Q's teacher at "school". Genevieve, known as Gigi (long i's) in our home, is from the island of Figi. Occasionally, she uses different terminology than we might use. For instance, today Q saw a "big, green nake" in the bush. The word bush is simply the term she uses for woods, forest, greenspace, etc. You can only imagine how cute it is to hear him also refer to our greenspace as the bush. And if you know how fond of snakes he is...like when he plays with Play-Doh, or when he's trying to scare his Grandma....we had to ask him if he touched the snake or ran away. He exclaimed - "No nake!" and then ran away. Grandma, aren't you proud?!

Kemah....Kamo....it's all the same

During Spring Break, we ventured down to the Kemah Boardwalk, which overlooks Galveston Bay. With "Finding Nemo" being the repeated movie selection to date, we thought it only appropriate to visit the "Aquarium"...the restaurant with 50,000 gallons of water and sealife....and "Stingray Reef". Q had a grand time, eyes wide open the entire two days. R just goes with the flow....if brother is enjoying life, she is too! On our return home, Q was ready to go back to "Kamo".

We're on the band-wagon! Yes, thank you very much and welcome to "A day in the life of...the site about the two adorable Schmidt kids making their footprints on this big world. Why didn't we think of this sooner? We apologize. We're aliens in blog world.
