The Stockings Were Hung

With Q really into the Christmas spirit this year, we were so excited to be in our own home on Christmas morning...thank goodness for the lack of snow in Kentucky!

Q ripped into each present with such excitement & enthusiasm. R loved opening a present or two, but was overwhelmed by too many at a time.

Thank you Aunt Tracy! The kids looked perfect in their early morning pictures!

Kentucky Christmas 2008

Christmas in Kentucky was COOOOOOLLLLLLDDDDDD! Q desperately wanted it to snow...he wanted to see snow....to play in the snow....but unfortunately, no snow. How can it be 10 degrees outside and not snow?!?!?

Our trip started off with Uncle Rick's (SURPRISE) 40th birthday party. Ashley, so graciously planned this event for my big brother, and I think he really enjoyed himself. We were all so very afraid...

The rest of our days were spent mostly indoors, playing the Wii with the cousins, eating delicious sweets, and enjoying the company of one another.

Hugs & Kisses to all the Kentucky family! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas from The Schmidt's

We opted to take a few outdoor pictures this year for Christmas cards & gifts, in lieu of going to the local photography center. My friend, Shea, was so kind to take them one Sunday morning with her professional-style camera.

Q was all smiles and R was in serious mode.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

While visiting Grandma & Paw Paw over Thanksgiving break, we took a drive down "Santa's Wonderland".....2.5 million lights spread across 40 acres. The kids were both so excited to be out of their car seats, snuggled up with Grandma & Paw Paw, while Daddy drove us through the park.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas Season!

Thanksgiving 2008

Thanksgiving at Mimi & Papa's this year was great. UB & Aunt Aimee, Aunt Donna & Uncle Bill, Aunt Carol, and cousins Chris & Melissa were all there for the wonderful feast.

Q & R made fashionable pilgrim attire to show off. I love it!

Don't you miss all the crafty things we made as children? Hopefully, we'll have time to re-create a Christmas ornament I made as a kid. Should be fun!

Fall Festivities

Tons of fun was had in CS this weekend at Grandma & Paw Paw's
"Fall Festival". Q & R had their first hay ride experience. They both loved riding in the trailor, looking above at the moon and stars. Q roasted his very own marshmallows too. He was good at it...he didn't burn them all up; just enough heat to get all gooey inside. Yum!

Sorry no pics! I forgot the camera and Mom's wasn't holding a charge...

Dear Santa

Q would like the movie "101 Dalmations".

We currently have a small part of it DVR'd......in Spanish. I didn't realize we were on the Spanish Channel until about 15 minutes in. No way I can delete it now..we would have a total meltdown.

Trick or Treat

R woke up on Halloween morning covered in hives. Our second round of them. Two days prior are when they first appeared. After taking a dose of Zyrtec, all was well. What? Why? How? Who knows. She and I spent the day together, while Q went to school for his Halloween festivities.

Later, the kids helped Dad carve a pumpkin..they mostly helped in pulling out the seeds.

When the sun finally went down, we wagoned around to three or four homes, enjoyed a lollipop, and headed back home to help Dad scare the kids with the smoke machine.

Our first real night of "trick or treating" was a success!

Baby Schmidt

Aunt Aimee at her 15 week prenatal visit.

We are so excited about the upcoming addition to the Schmidt family. He/She will make their appearance in April. Stay tuned!

Pumpkin Patch

This afternoon, we dressed the kids in their warmest Autumn colors to take a picture in our local pumpkin patch. To our dismay, the patch had only a smattering of pumpkins, and most were rotting. I suppose this Texas heat will do it.

A few pics to share nonetheless.

Boo Zoo

On Saturday, we headed down to the Houston Zoo, for their "Boo Zoo" festivities. The kids were able to "trunk or treat", get "tatzoo's" and enjoy the beautiful weather in their costumes.
