Jumping with Style

Last night, Paw Paw stopped in and surprised us with a visit. In his honor, Q pulled out the blow up mattress and transformed it into a slide. I know, not the safest of activities, but they were having such a good time and were sharing so well. I could not stop taking pictures of those sweet faces.

Sunday Funday

Too lovely of a day to waste inside, so the kids, Dakota & myself made our way to the neighborhood park for some outdoor fun. The turtles were no where in sight and the catfish didn't care much for the stale Cheerio's. No worries -- we made our way to the greenspace to throw sticks for Kota and play in the mulch. Tons of fun!

Sick-o is our name-o

On our return from San Antonio two weekends ago, I thought I might be getting the flu. ugh. After two days of Theraflu, the night-time & day stuff, I was functional.

Then, my Q-man came down with a bug. The stomach kind. Vomiting and 103 degree fever came through our house, but somehow left without touching R. We were grateful.

On Monday, we get a call that R was running fever...shoot, shoot, shoot. Yesterday, her eyes began to tear and goop up. So, we trekked into the doctor's office this morning to get the verdict.

Poor R has "pink-eye" AND double ear infections. You feel like a terrible parent when the doctor tells you that, by the way. We did get the good antibiotics and some eye drops. And seriously, WHY do they give eye drops to a super independent child?? Don't they know I only have two hands? Another remedy needs to be found.

And my Q-man has an upper respiratory infection now. ugh. Poor babes.

Here's to a speedy recovery and perhaps a lazy & restful weekend.

Mothers

Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?' and get their answer when a little voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade... It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

A friend of mine emailed this to me...I didn't want to delete it, so I put it here for all the Mamas to enjoy.
