Good Friends, Good Weather

We promised our friends last week that we would take another trip to the Oasis before school started. Today was the perfect day for some swimming. Rain was in the forecast, but we were able to have some fun before it arrived. We sure are going to miss these kind of days.

Here, Fishy Fishy Fishy

Today was a great day in downtown Houston.  It was our first time to explore the Downtown Aquarium & we had some serious fun.  The kids fed the stingrays in the Stingray Reef.  Very cool!  We ventured on the 100 foot ferris wheel and on the aquatic carousel.  We saw amazing views of the city and may have enjoyed the concession food and the water spouts on this very hot day.

Zoo Day

We are an animal loving family in our house.  If I mention any activity that has to do with animals, this crew gets moving faster than usual.  My plan was to arrive as they were opening, so that we could have a few hours without the sweltering heat.  We were a little late, in typical Schmidt fashion, but we still had several good hours of "nice" weather.  We were able to see all of our favorite exhibits.  We checked out the 4D Ice Age movie.  We fed the giraffes.  And we cooled down with an icy snow cone.  We are so lucky to have our yearly zoo memberships. Thank you, Mimi & Papa!!

Pool Day

We headed over to The Woodlands Resort yesterday to have a little fun in this terrible sun. There really is no way around the heat.  Q&R both took a friend with them & I enjoyed snapping pics of their cute smiles.  

A Day at the Safari

This morning we took an adventure over to the Franklin Drive-Thru Safari. The kids always love an outing that involves animals and this place does not disappoint.
