A Fresh New Look

Recently, we had to do some major work on our front lawn. Last summer, anything that was once green died with the 110 degree temps & lack of rain. We spent months living with dead shrubs and little grass.  I know our neighbors cringed at the sight of our pathetic state.

While I was always hoping to run into "Yard Crashers" at Lowe's or The Home Depot, I never did.  So last month, as we traveled to Florida, our own yard crew got to work on this big project.  Three trees were removed to allow for turf growth.  Q & J had already dug up the dead shrubs (this before pic was taken from Google maps when the shrubbery was not completely dead).  A sprinkler system was installed to keep all living things alive.  Boulder rock formed our beautiful flower beds & lovely green sod was put down.

We love the end result.  Our house can now be seen from the street and I have lovely rose bushes to admire.  I'm a happy girl!

Crazy Funky Hats

Deciding on a beach souvenir is hard work! The kids loved the hat variety at Ron Jon Surf Shop. We even tried on a few for giggles.

Fresh New Do

My big girl recently decided that she wanted her hair cut. A real cut.  The end result = a happy little swing bob.

Happy Birthday, America!

A wonderful day of swimming, barbecuing & relaxing was had on the 4th! The kids spent so many hours in the pool, all were asleep by 7:30pm that evening.  (sigh)  Happy day, indeed.

Pier Fishing

The boys were excited to fish on our last day at Cocoa Beach. They caught 8 - sharing the bigger ones with some fellow fisherman, while the smaller ones went to a hungry friend.

Cocoa

Spending time in Cocoa is a summer favorite for the kids. They weren't about to let a little rain slow their good time down. Collecting shells in the rain, followed up with a hot tub swim, was a fun time during the first few days.  Crab hunting at night & hanging out with cousins K&E ranked pretty high on the list, too!

Brevard Zoo

We made it to Cocoa Beach on Saturday.  Sadly, tropical storm Debby arrived, too.   She hasn't made for the most ideal beach conditions.  Each day has been rain with a small window of sunshine. Today, we were fortunate enough to visit the interactive Brevard Zoo.
